New 'CSI: Miami' Coroner Still a Little Iffy Around Dead Bodies
In tonight's gas-themed episode called “Won't Get Fueled Again,” CSI: Miami will introduce the new coroner replacing Khandi Alexander who left the show last season. As one of the most beloved characters on CSI: Miami, perhaps it's safe to say that Alexx' shoes will be hard to fill, but Megalyn Echikunwoke is up for the challenge, one of which is being comfortable around supposed corpses.
“Most times it's a real person just lying there, with this gorgeous injury make-up on, trying not to breath,” she told SF Universe. “It's weird for me because, you know, they're alive and you've got to touch them and sort of poke at them like they're dead; set things on top of them, so that's kinda weird.”
If we remember, Alexx had this quirky habit of talking to corpses while she worked on them. For her part, Echikunwoke said her character Tara Price is very professional and good at what she does. “I hope my character won't be too well rounded. I hope she has some edge. The way it stands now, my character's sarcastic. But definitely… she's got spunk.”
Echikunwoke, 25, is best known for her role on The 4400, but she achieved some form of notoriety as Dean Winchester's (Jensen Ackles) first love interest on Supernatural. The two got intimate in “Route 666” and performed the show's first on-screen sex scene. According to her, “Dean is really cute . . . so that's no problem.”
When it came nearer and nearer to shooting the scene, however, she admitted to getting nervous. But at the end of the day, she said, she and Ackles just laughed about it.
On tonight's episode of CSI: Miami, the rocketing prices of fuel has people of Miami literally killing for gas, and the team encounters with one of the city's most “sadistic” crime groups.
