CSI: Miami: Previewing Episode 7.24 "Dissolved"
So, who else found last week's CSI: Miami a little weird? Or am I the only one who got lost in the connected disconnect between a grenade attack on a family, and the waitress who's being threatened by having her daughter taken away? I think I have to watch it again. Yes, I understand that the Russian mob angle resurfaced again--resulting in that pesky photographer ending up dead, which is a chilling bit of television editing--but, overall, it was a little disjointed.
Or perhaps illogical. So the best way to have Tonya (guest star Sprague Grayden) shut up about her boss' involvement in credit card fraud is to have her children taken away? All that fuss. Perhaps it's there to make her similarly distraught--she didn't exactly find a connection between her boss and the kids--but, well, it felt a little contrived. I was literally going "huh?" afterwards. Or, it's a little weird seeing Grayden--otherwise scheming First Daughter Olivia Taylor on this season of 24--being in such a position. At least she pulled it off.
Or, it's weirder seeing that last scene, the one with Horatio (David Caruso) and Tonya's kid in the swings. "What are you? A bird, or a plane?" sounded too funny to be true. And then they slowed things up for that emotional effect. I guess I still can't see Horatio being that compassionate, nice guy. Well, he can--two weeks ago, I had the same questions--but it just looks weird. Or it's the dialogue. "An eeeeagle!"
If anything important came up last week, it's Wolfe (Jonathan Togo) finding out about Tara's (Megalyn Echikunwoke) addiction to pain medication. And it took a homemade grenade to find that one out. And it didn't end so favorably, actually, with Wolfe deciding to cover for the new-ish coroner. This decision will catch up with him, I believe. And I'm guessing it won't be nice.
And I'm guessing it happens tonight. You've probably seen the photos, and you might remember me thinking it's the Russian mob coming back to haunt the team. On tonight's CSI: Miami, Julia (guest star Elizabeth Berkley) gets out of control and gets tangled in some affairs within the crime lab. Let me piece the puzzle together: Tara blaming Julia for the disappearing drugs, the drug habit, Kyle (Evan Ellingson) seeing it, Wolfe seeing it... ohhh. Possible.
That, and a man boiled alive--or dissolved--on CSI: Miami, tonight from 10pm on CBS.
