For the first time ever, CBS and Warner Brothers have worked out a deal with Grammy Award-winning rock band Linkin Park to feature the fifth single from their album “Minutes to Midnight” in an upcoming episode of CSI that marks the return of Lady Heather (Melinda Clarke). Making this arrangement extra special is the fact that the forensic drama will be basing the entire score of the episode and its title around the currently released rock single “Leave Out All The Rest.”
Scheduled on Thursday, November 6, “Leave Out All The Rest” finds the CSI team investigating a case involving the world of domination, prompting Grissom (William Petersen) to pay a visit Lady Heather in attempt to find some answers.
The said episode will open and close with Linkin Park's fifth single from its latest album, which has currently reached 6 million sales worldwide. In addition to the return of Lady Heather, the elements of the song will also be used throughout the episode to accompany the story of Gil Grissom and his unresolved love for Sara Sidle (Jorja Fox), who recently left the forensic lab.
"We found the melody and lyrics of the song to work so well with our story, that we underscored Grissom's emotional journey with it," Jason Alexander, music supervisor for CSI, said in a statement. "We've been long admirers of Linkin Park and it was wonderful for us to collaborate on something special like this."
"We have always been huge fans of Linkin Park," CSI executive producer Carol Mendelsohn added. "They have an anthemic sound that's full of strength and simultaneous vulnerability. They were perfect for the show and the conflict within it."
Fans can catch a new episode of CSI every Thursday at 9pm ET/PT on CBS. CSI also stars Marg Helgenberger as Catherine Willows, George Eads as Nick Stokes, Eric Szmanda as Greg Sanders, Paul Guilfoyle as Jim Brass, Robert David Hall as Robbins, Wallace Langham as Hodges and David Berman as David Phillips.
