CSI Miami: More Premiere Details
As things build up to the September 22 premiere of the seventh season of CSI: Miami, most of its fans are holding their breaths toward this highly anticipated date (as evident on the spate of comments on recent articles on the show). Of course, primary on the agenda are details that surround the potentially fatal shooting of Horatio Caine (David Caruso). First off, Caruso himself has confirmed that he'll be back, and Miami won't be following the footsteps of one of its cousins who had some overhaul with its main man. You can't blame the lot of CSI: Miami fans who feared for his life. After all, his infamous sunglasses broke, perhaps telling of ominous things to come.
"We're really excited,” says CSI: Miami co-executive producer Naren Shankar. “We're champing at the bit to get (the season premiere) on the air. When you figure out who shot Horatio and why, I think it's going to be surprising and yet really satisfying."
Other than a new coroner replacing Khandi Alexander, it was revealed that CSI: Miami will also deal with the Russian mob in the city. In addition, Horatio's ex Julia Winston (Elizabeth Berkley) will be explored deeper as a character. "As the season goes on, you'll see what the root of her complication is," Nayar assured.
Going back to Horatio's shooting, the debut episode “Resurrection” will see his team on the hunt for the person who shot Horatio. Their investigation will reportedly lead them to one of the most dangerous people in Miami, with one of them implicated on the case. According to some speculations, it can either be Winston herself, Ron Saris (Kim Coates), who'll be coming back for the season, or Juan Ortega, the man behind the illegal ammo operation, who gave Horatio's name over the phone to someone.
Other returning cast members include Evan Ellingson, who will still play Horatio's long-lost son Kyle Harmon, and Sofia Milos, Colombian detective Yelina Salas.
